The Maintenance Department is responsible for the operations, maintenance and repair of all equipments used within Lebanese Air Navigation System. The Department consists of the following sections:
- Navigation Aids & Radar Section:
Provides maintenance support for monitoring, repair & maintenance of Nav-Aids systems and facilities including: VHF Omni directional Radio Range Systems (VORs); Distance Measuring Equipment (DME); Non-Directional Beacons (NDB) and Instrument Landing System (ILS).
This section is also responsible of Air Navigation Surveillance and Air Traffic Management Systems, such as RADAR station and ATC Control & Monitoring System.
The radar system comprises a short range (60 NM) Primary Surveillance Radar (PSR), co-mounted with 250 NM range Monopulse Secondary Surveillance Radar (MSSR).
The navigation Aids equipments are flight inspected and certified in a yearly basis, whoever, in addition of the daily routine check most of these equipments are site inspected and ground checked in a monthly basis as recommended by the manufacturer.
- Radio Communication Section:
The Radio Communication section, like its name stands for, it is responsible of the wireless communication in the Rafic Hariri International Airport (RHIA), and which of its main job is to maintain and repair the Radio Communications equipments related to Air Traffic Services.
- It supervises the installation of the communication equipments and frequencies of companies working at RHIA site.
- With the collaboration of Ministry of communications it monitors and preserves the Air Bands from the interfering and human disturbing.
But rather than Radio communication, the department also, is full responsible for a wide range of modern communication equipments mentioned under "miscellaneous systems".
- Electrical Section:
Electrical Department provides maintenance service of the Visual lighting Systems and the Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) in line with ICAO requirements. Also operation, maintenance and monitoring of the airport & outside sites stations: Power distribution system, Power stations, No-Break Generators, UPS's, Generators, obstruction lights and supervision over contractors.
Maintenance department provides also global management of airport maintenance and responsible for all engineering aspects and monitoring over contractors and sub-contractors.

- Preventive maintenance: Precede a schedule for monthly and ground check.
- Flight check every year for official certifications.
- Daily equipments checks, making records and prepare routine reports.
- Technical staff standby 24 hours, 7 days per week
